Technology For Living was developed as a consumer-driven organization because consumers told us they wanted PROP and TIL to be person-centered in all of our supports and services. When we apply for grants to finance the programs and services that support you, potential funders look at the number of members as one important piece of evidence that Technology for Living is a member-driven, democratic organization.

As a non-profit charitable society, Technology for Living is governed by its members. If you are not a member, you cannot participate at Annual General Meetings, be nominated for the Board of Directors or elect the members of the Board. This is equivalent to not voting in a general election! Your membership is very important, so please become a member today.

Provincial Respiratory Outreach Program (PROP) provides a wide variety of equipment and respiratory supplies to our clients. We understand clients have different needs and therefore supplies used throughout the year will vary, sometimes considerably. There are, however, a few things that all clients can do to help keep costs under control and PROP is requesting our client’s participation to keep supply costs balanced. PROP strongly encourages clients to have client specific ‘back up’ supplies. For example: back up bi-level mask, back up hoses, filters for your bi-level or ventilator, ventilator circuits and tracheostomy tubes.

Having supplies in the home is essential. Extra supplies are a crucial part of day-to-day living as well as proper emergency planning. The next time a PROP Respiratory Therapist is at your home discuss your supply needs and concerns with a PROP RT. As always, PROP looks to our clients for feedback, concerns and ideas. Please share your supply inquiries with us.
